Marcus, you have to be very careful with these. Almost all of the ones I have seen (and personally inspected) have been either re-builds (frankensteins) or just discolored Medical waffenfarbe with an added cross.

I can't tell from the limited pics you posted if yours is good or not.

I saw this cap earlier and I was suspicious of the interior. There are so many good fakes and there is one in Chris's fakes gallery that I still don't know what's wrong with it. Some better photos are needed.

Thank you for taking the time to show some caps from your collection, You will always get an honest opinion here on what we think we are looking at. It is a tricky call the chaplins cap and one that always creates a debate.

Please by all means post some more pictures as it will certainly help.

Thanks for the pics.

On the pictures your waffenfabre looks close to the chaplins violet but still a little "blue". May be just my monitor and the only real way to decide is in daylight.

Here are some more pictures of the violet colour of the chaplin piping to aid comparison.
