I recall seeing quite a few of these being worn by elderly german farmers in the early eighties. Good caps and im sure worn post war until they fell apart.

One of my Einheitsfeldmützen has been found on the head of a german farmer at work on his tractor in the late 80's. The T-shape Hoheitsabzeichen was of course missing, but a nice Edelweiss was still sewn on the left side.

No, I still think all believe it to be a reproduction - it just started a discussion as to WHY good ones of these caps are so few and far between.

In the 80's, I saw many fakes coming from London...So I bought my first last year to Virtual Grenadier.
