Hi
need clearer pictures if possible please............under the hood shots of he blousing and celluloid plus logo on the sweat band.
Eagle may have been taken off post war then replaced when sold...nothing unusual with the eagle being moved. Check its an original replacement though.
Is the reed around the sweatband covered in black leatherette or brown ? and what colour is the interior lining please ?
Looks good from the outside.
Hope that helps some, see what others think.......
cheers
tony
The RZM circulars, which would not apply to the army, specified that contract caps for the party and its formations either had a small bow or a cross stitch at the rear of the sweat band.
I can well imagine that with later made army caps, in wartime, that such things were dropped in favor of efficiency and simpler production.
The Peek Cloppenburg wartime book on uniform making reveals generally that a constant effort was undertaken to simplify textiles to the dictates of total war.
The collector also does ill to over interpret one minor detail of this regalia, a syndrome that especially adheres to the cult of Saint Lubstein.

Tony, thank you for help.

The attachment of a little bow or not is a bit like the weather, hard to predict.
Plus I'm sure a lot of the original owners must have snipped them off because they tend to get stuck in your hair!
That 'triple Erel' Panzer (I think) cap looks like a real gem....

The eagles wing tips seem to have made those small
impressions because the top of the cap has been
pushed down somewhat ( perhaps it was stored
in a shallow box ) - at least, this is what it
looks like to me.........
