Aldo, good point. Officer shakos have slide closures for the vents (it will only close one vent per side, however).
This one is in the 1/2 closed position:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
A couple more Luftwaffe Officer "Erel" visor caps with the ventilation through the cockade...
