...so I had the SOS come to me!
...so I had the SOS come to me!
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
This one is a pre-war, unissued stonemint Signals visor:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Cap is definately pre-war. I would say circa 1936-37. It lacks a full sattelform, and has the earlier frosted eagle:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
The wreath is almost like white gold:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
and it is an absolute beauty!
The yellow piping is so bright, you almost gotta wear shades:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
No mothing whatsoever to the wool:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Hat is made by a mom 'n pop maker--no logo whatsoever. Only hint of age is the yellowing to the sweatdiamond (which is starting to pull from the liner). Sweatband is as supple as the day it was made:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
So, in summary, these "no-name" visors can be just as nice (if not nicer) than those produced by the "big boys"--mom n' pop put a lot more time, effort and care into making their caps!
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
A Time-Warp artifact ! One wonders how one has survived in this condition. -Congrats !
