Turns out this cap is not what it seems at all.

The wreath has been replaced, an possibly the eagle as well.

I suppose I so loved this cap that I really didn't give it the inspection it deserved.

still a very nice KM visor wasnt that just amazing that guy spotted his old wreath he has a good eye

The fellow on the WAF (Michel) has a killer eye, indeed.

You can imagine my reaction when I read his first post - almost laughed, thinking how absurd.

It is indeed a whopper of a cap. It has been my favorite KM visor for some time, so I am clearly dismayed by all this. In hand, it is quite a thing.

There are several factors involved, including price paid, as well as my general preference for (especially KM) caps that have not been altered or rebadged. I feel less finicky about SS caps and uniforms, for reasons partly apparent and partly unexplained, to be sure.

Gerard at Relichunter has stepped up quicky to reclaim this cap, given the evidence at hand, for which I am appreciative, and I suggest contacting him directly if you have interest.

This seems a very fine thing indeed from pictures.

I would have duked you out on this a few weeks past, but this is not to be.

In my own chagrin, I must admit there is no cap above suspicion; all of us should share anything offered, on this forum, before purchase.
