    Hello everyone,
I have this what I believe is a marine veteran hat, here, can anyone tell me to its authenticity? Or anything they notice about it? Completely unrelated is there a such thing as an allgemeine visor with a, "black," SS runes on the inside instead of gold? Thanks.

It is a Soldatenbund visor for an Infantry veteran.
    See this thread here:

Are you talking of a black-top EM/NCO's cap? Black ss runes did not exist, but as the ss runes were the "negative" (i. e. no colour) within the golden circle they could appear black if (what is very rare as normally it is the brownish waterproof type) the lining was black, such as here:

    https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/attac...gma4095-5-.jpg

Fewegla seems to have made lots of these EM/NCO caps with black/dark grey lining, see this thread:

    SS Black-Top EM/NCO Visors

One other thing: the "positive" - the originally gold coloured circle which forms the frame of the runes sometimes oxydized so that it almost looked like black - mostly dark green, such as here:

    https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/attac...9img5f3503.jpg.

Have you got a picture of the sweat shield in question?

"Fewegla seems to have made lots of these EM/NCO caps with black/dark grey lining, see this thread:"

The Saxon firm made caps with a silver grey lining for the Sonderanfertigung cap with gold runes.

In a startling example of idiot group think, these caps are dismissed, but they are real.

Let the stupid roll around in their gun show old wives tales.

A cap with black runes is quite simply a fake.

The runic mark is either in silver, in some examples, or gold.

In the grey cap, the runes are in dark grey or gold. Viz:Kyffhauser marine visor......

Your full color is a sight to behold, especially in your alpine Heimat.

My wife and I were just watching the Bergdoktor, which is Tirol, of course, but closer than some.

I will send you a pm.

    Servus nach Salzburg!
