I picked this up the other day, the guy i got it from told me he used to holiday every year in Jersey at the same ladies house ,the lady told him she was there during the occupation and when the germans were leaving they discarded several items,she picked up this cap and a belt & buckle, she gave him the cap ,this was 40 years ago, and now its mine

he only told me the story when i asked him how he had come about it after i had agreed to buy, rgds Dave

Just beautiful!

As a side note I'd like to add that giving new collectors the advise to purchase books, books and books to learn is only true IN PART,for AFAIR there's no mention to these cap or the very-late war Italian made M43s with those appalling yet so original insigna in any book I've read and owned! Funny how many collectors look down on these caps while they make for great additions to any Late-war Italian or Southern France Campaign set up!
