Got this rather nice Cap a while back, and I've been told it's a M36 Deutshe Reichsbahn Cap.
It's in a really good condition, and a few people who have seen it, have commented that the insignia is fine..
It's a dark blue, almost black colour.

It's almost a mint example, not really up to date with Reichsbahn items.
It fits my head anyway..
The use of a field-cap for males was not earlier mentioned, as with the new orders from spring 1941,
but was in use since the start of the war. First women were allowed to wear it since fall 1939.
So, 1936 is a wrong thought. Nonsense!
So, what would the date be for this Cap Wilhelm?
A few pictures that I have seen of them being worn, do seem to be on Womens heads..
If you Google "M36 Reichsbahn Side Cap", this is the Cap that comes up..
Most say it was "introduced" in June 1936..?

Most are wrong, then:
The sidecap for male personnel is not included in the Reichsbahn's July 1937 Dienstkleidungsordnung (DKO) [service dress regulations] (which only lists the peaked service cap and the winter cap), so it couldn't have been introduced in 1936.
As Wim said, it is first included in the 1941 regulations, where it is described as “as before“ (due to it having already made its appearance early in the war).
The pictures of women wearing this cap are all wartime images, when many women had taken on duty positions that had previously been reserved for male railway personnel, including positions that necessitated them wearing uniforms.
(In fact, the prewar DKO still expressly stated that there were no uniforms for female staff. Women's uniforms - including the sidecap - were officially introduced by an order of 14 September 1939.)

One of the first publishing the uniform/dress for Reichsbahn females was
the magazine "Uniformen-Markt". With the date October 1, 1939 (nr. 19,
page 287) a survey was included about what females had to wear when
in service and when public. The caption with the photos says more then
thousand words: das Allerneueste (the newest of the newest).
In about June of the same year 1939 for females ticket clerks a so-called
Kittelschürze (a sort of silk apron-coat) was introduced. Before these
dates females were not supplied with a unified dress.
All what is told about dresses for females earlier then mid-1939 are
just untrue assertions. Many persons, and above all some dealers -
who think to have knowledge - talk through one's hat. Females were
the first to wear the DRB field-cap. Read the above, as well as the shown
announcement and you will know!
Females during trying on of clothings for the DRB, helped by a female,
wearing the silk apron. Further shown a young girl, also wearing such
apron, the true first clothing for females from the Reichsbahn. The shown
photos are from my friend mr. Bügel from the Eisenbahnstiftung. Note
their watermark. Many copy from that website without asking permission.

I do appreciate your replies, and they aren't disrepectful, I really don't care if it's a M36-M37 or M38.5 or what ever..
It isn't nonsense, and no wonder "new members" don't post on here..
It's a Deutsche Reichsbahn Cap and it's original.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but nobody ever denied that is original, and the last two posts by Wim and me were in direct response to your question of when the cap was introduced.
If providing detailed background- and supplementary information from period documentation and setting prevalent misinformation right is something inherently wrong and a deterrent to new members, I, too, am beginning to wonder what I am doing here.
