What do you guys think of this one? Looks good to me although I cannot see the back seeing as it's still stitched to part of the feldmutze.

It's good IMO...but it could be from a M42 as well!

Thanks Manny. You are quite correct. This T-shaped insignia was first used in about 1936. The early ones had a white eagle. This was later changed to grey, like mine. These were most commonly seen on the bergmutze and 1942 feldmutze, but also on the M43.

You stand correct on this one...the early ones were used on the Bergmutze (see my thread on an M36 in this very forum) and had a white eagle on a green background.
Whatever is the cap this insigna has been cut from it's a genuine one...and very collectible! If you don't need to restore a cap leave it on the piece of cloth it has been sewn on!
Cheers

My intention exactly. I never mess with items, prefer to leave them as I found them.

Hi Tom, nice cap cutoff
Jerry
Thanks Jerry. My first cut-off sample.

1000% good, I would like that item for my Bergmutze !
Well, send your bergmutze and I'll send you photos of what they look like together.
