M43 Polizei Cap w/ Edelweiss
I just received my new M43 Police cap and it's a real looker. The distinctive blue green tint is extremely vibrant on this cap. My first concern regarding this cap was the lack of the two button type skirt arm but then I read in the Wilkens book that the single button versions exist and are much rarer. The edelweiss is an authentic war time badge but impossible to know if it's original to the cap. It looks nicely sewn in place and appears to have been on this cap for a long time. The BeVo eagle looks correct and sewn on nicely. The khaki tan lining has faint markings which are impossible to read. I was forced to take photo's inside with flash because it was raining here today but I will post better pictures soon in natural outdoor light. All opinions and comments are welcome. Thanks, Al

I was not aware that there was any controversy surrounding these single button M43 caps. Other than the mention of them in the Wilkens book, I've had very little success in finding period photos or other examples of them. In fact, the only picture I have found so far is from an old thread on another single button M43 cap. As confident that I am about this being an original period cap, I would love to see more examples or hear comments.

Hi Aldo,
Nice collection of police caps. I like the look of your new m43. the single button versions are rarer to find but none the less all original. Good find IMO.
