Little late coming, but figured I'd comment anyway. I like the cap a lot and as you now know, you made out like a bandit. No red cross hats aren't the most desirable, but I wouldn't want to sell it anyway. Invest in a Red Cros Hewer, they'd look great as a pair.

You are quite right that the head wear problem reminds us all that life is unfair. Be it 40 USD or 400 USD or 4000 USD and upwards, as it so often is. Luck is fickle and the globalization of militaria via the internet has been a pretty ruthless process.
