    Hello there,

I joined this forum with a question. Probably the reason anyone joins a forum. I recently acquired this item. I have no idea what it could be. Initially I thought it might be marine SA or some Freikorps. The laurel wreath seems odd. Usually oak leaves in Germany. Could anyone shed light?

    Thanks

Looks more like TENO, but the berries are ill-defined.
There are many wreath types that were used by various Merchant Marine shipping companies postwar--it could be one of those.

I agree on the merchant navy idea!....

This is Reichluftschutzbund, so probably not, but thanks anyway.

I checked various catalogues, but none of the oakleaf wreath forms
comes close to the one shown.
I also did check a number of merchant navy wreaths. No results. Most
are with quite high upraised leaves (the photo shown here was the
most close). Most one sees the company-symbol positioned in the inner.

I am not familiar with the shown form!

Further shown the TeNO caps from a 1936 uniform-plate. The wreath
    is a laurel wreath (Lorbeerkranz):

Have no idea, but I don't think the wreath from post 1 is Third Reich.

Thank you for your suggestions. I agree it looks like TeNo, but the shape is a bit wider and it's gold, not silver.

And do you know of merchant shipping lines that use the Reichs Kokarde?

Here is a similar Handelsmarine wreath (in cello) from the Thiele hoard:
