Karl, I thought this was an even better deal. This went for $910 on Gottliebs auction--a pre-war (circa '36-'37) Erel in mint condition (with the exception of the age crazing on the visor).

I picked up a lovely double Erel Lufty from Jason A not too far back, for just over 2K, I would rate this one as mint, Chris has some photos of it....
