Looks nice to me! The reason the piping has been passed over by the moths on this one is because its moleskin as opposed to wool...

aaah... didn't know that the piping came in any other material than wool, thanks for the info! I've noticed that the colour's a lot brighter than on a lot of the other examples I've seen too, which I'm guessing is due to the material? Is the wool type piping more common than this moleskin type? Other than the slightly rough liner and the missing area of enamel on the insignia I'm really digging this one... it will be my first

Unlike so many that prefer to collect Only military caps, I always felt that the Political "Golden Pheasants" were particularly attractive. Of course, you do know that once you pick One type up, that you'll naturally have to pick up the Other groups Too...the Kreisleiter, Gauleiter, Reichsleiter etc...They can be addictive!

hehe... yes indeed, this has definitely been my experience in other areas of collecting as well. I like to think that I can restrain myself, but.... there's always "just" that one other interesting item
