Hi all, I got my orts cap today and took some of my own detailed pics, it looks even better in person, the visor looks like it was never touched! I took closer pics of the chincord buttons, I still cant decide if they are silver or turned from gold over time, either way I still love it, hope you enjoy the pics!

A very clean example of this cap. The bugs seem to love devouring the blue piping on these. It also appears to have a true leather sweat band and not the ersatz found on so many of these form 4 caps. To me, the buttons appear to be gilt and proper for a Form 4 cap. A nice keeper.

Strange that the bugs really go for blue piping. Seen it quite often.

Yup, the moths can be very picky, avoiding certain colours and weaves of fabric while devouring others!

Blue piping must be tasty, maybe the red piping is too spicy lol

Yes, the buttons appear to be a pale gold. A true early Form 4. Congrats!

Thanks, may I ask the difference between form 1 2 3 4? and early form compared to late form? or just suggest a book for me so I can study and learn more about this. I already have the wilkens book but political visors are not represented in it.
