Has anyone else noticed a shift in the collecting interest from "safe" investments to the more interesting examples?
I think this is most praiseworthy,,,

Absolutely - I have for instance made an "un-safe" investment myself with my HG cap. However, I do feel that this shift only concerns very few collectors relatively speaking at this point in time.

What then is "safe" in a world in which lack of knowledge is legion? The group think trap with much of this material is undone by acute, far reaching and in depth research into the actual record, where, no wonder, the complexity of thing is upper most. The mentally sloppy and lazy will always make a failure as a collector.
