Everything points to it being an authentic Schellenberg and a pristine example also. I'm curious, does it have a metal wire around the inside of the crown and what it the pasteboard made from? card or hessian?

A very nice cap showing minimal wear. The Schellenberg logo is the early one utilized before they adopted the Berlin bear logo. Thanks for sharing such a nice piece.

I thought that would be the case. There are so many variations on the Feldmuetze Alter Art theme, some designed to be more rigid and more of a "dress hat" like this one. I really like it, it's only the second or third Schellenberg leather peaked cap I've ever seen.
