Thanks again for everyone's help and input I have a Heer M43 for your opinion looks OK to me nice change in colour underneath the flaps. the tape is clearly there under the stitching. insignia factory stitched.

Like JPhilip, I don't see any red flags. I like the bias material under the top flap edges.
Can you post a photo showing the edge of the brim? I want to see how the lower and upper come together.
