PinK piped Afrika Korps cap good???
Hello again everyone, I recently found this cap that I believe to be pink piped and for Afrika Korps. Can anyone shed some light on this and possible let me know how this looks to you all? The eagle and rivets look off to me and it doesn't appear to be very used IMO but hey...That is why I cam here to you all

I have never seen an original example with the flexible split in the rear. A small number of unissued examples in various pipings were found by George Petersen in the mid 60's. None of them resembled this cap.

I'm with Bob on this one-I've never seen an expansion in the back of a cap like this. What was it for? Some melon headed man trying to make a pinhead's cap fit him? Somehow, I rather doubt it....

IN my humble opinion, this is not a cap I would feel comfortable owning, too many red flags (grommets, soutache, interior ...).
This is a good one as a comparison....
I will have to take some better photos of my Grommets .

My Lago Berlin made ex pink piped cap can be seen on the forum if you search for it.
