Pith helmet shields

Hi,
This may be the wrong area for this post and if so I apologise. A dear friend of mine has recently got out of his loft a really nice dak pith helmet for me too see which until now he has not seen for 40 odd years. In that time it must have gotten a touch damp, the helmet itself is fine but the shields have deteriorated and the pins have corroded and when we opened the box both had become detached. He was really upset as he plans on passing this memento to his grandson. I said it should be possible to get him a matched set of shields without too much problem!!!! having looked they are not so easy to find. So in short if any of you have a spare set that they can pass on please let me know as I would like to help my friend if possible. Please email me at damienhorn1@gmail.com

I hope they are still for sale as the price is good. It would be interesting to see the tropenhelm and the degraded shields if possible?

I noticed that they are now listed as sold. Did you get them for your friend?
