The book by him extols the Nazi reorganization of the food economy and the virtues of the New Order versus the international political economy of agriculture prior to 1933. Grossraumwirtschaft referred to a Europe dominated by Germany, and organized by it.

I don't think I had ever heard of him, F-B, and if I did, it was so long ago that his name slipped my mind entirely.

On the Reichsbahn front, interesting to note that Dorpmueller chose to wear the Govt Officials uniform in lieu of the Reichsbahn General's uniform.

Dorpmueller was minister of transport, and himself a significant figure in the power elite of the III. Reich. Backe was a major figure, as well. He is not well known, but his ill effects on eastern Europe were. It hardly needs saying that the more one knows of German history, the more successful a collector one will be.
