Yes, Ben, if it was authentic, why would the bidding start at $500, with no reserve? A "real" cap would easily be $1,200-1,500 or more, such as those I've seen at Weitze's site, or Saxonia Militaria. Personally, I can't afford to make a $500 or more mistake.
