This Form IV Gau Visor is one of my two latest Aquisitions. It's in very nice condition, made by Pekuro (RZM #1073), shows nice Bordeaux red piping that indicates the 1939 pattern Gaulevel Regulation.
I really like this cap, that dark piping is killer

Thank you, TJ! It was quite expensive, but I really like it. I forgot to show off this really nice "Deutsches Leder"/German Leather marking on the Sweatband.

This is my Ordensburg Vogelsang visor, which I bought heavy damaged and restored myself. It's made by Clemens Wagner (RZM #4). The cardboard behind the velvet band in the front area of the visor was broken several times; apparently someone had sat on it at some point. I first stabilized the cardboard with glued paper strips and then glued on new cardboard. Afterwards I was able to attach a new oak leaf wreath. I re-sewn the lining of the visor with period sewing thread and used the old stitch holes. One of the vent holes was missing the metal eyelet, so I sewed the hole with period sewing thread as well. -

This version of visors were found by American GI's in the Ordensburg Vogelsang towards the end of the war. The visors found there were brand new and still had RZM paper tags attached. The special thing about these visors is that - unlike the other PL visors - they have vent holes and lemon-colored piping. Something I can't explain is that the brown color of the fabric actually doesn't match the Ordensburg uniforms at all, as these particular uniforms are much darker brown and the NSDAP organization book also shows correspondingly dark brown visors. So the use of these visors in particular is something of a mystery. Like many other things about the topic of NSDAP Ordensburgen ...

Finally I present my most recent acquisition. A Form III Reich Level Visor, from Clemens Wagner (RZM #4). It is in great, worn condition. Sweatband is made of Ersatz material, the cap cord is metal, not cello. Compare the colors of the piping between the Ordensburg Vogelsang visor and this visor! Note, both are from Clemens Wagner, Form IV on the left, Form III on the right!

This hypothesis was put forth by Bob Coleman many years ago, and like many things on forums, it tends to get reread and repeated... Bob Coleman had a large collection, but in my opinion has been granted too much credibility simply because of it. I have read enough posts from him and seen him contradicted enough to question some of his conclusions. His hypothesis may be proven right eventually, but without more than just his opinion, I am skeptical.
