This is not an early cap. 538 gives away the cap was produced in May 1938.

    B.A. Br means: Bekleidungsamt Braunschweig.
All of this you can find in volume 5 for the series "Headgear of Hitler's Germany".

The abbreviation is not the maker, but the department of supplies.

When I am able to do, I always try to be of help.
And RAD was once a subject for a chapter about
    RAD headgear.

By the way: the cut one can "repair" somewhat.
But do it from the inside. I did it with my RAD
cap with lots of damages. One just needs patience!
Due to the cut the seller should lower the price.

Thanks Wim, although to be honest I'm not certain what a good price is for one of these, I researched others and its certainly under the normal value I'd expect.

I do not have any idea about prices, as I do not collect myself.
I even do not know what a mint sample would cost you!
Search the web and have a look at the best dealer's. This may
    give you an idea!
