Default Rote Kreuz Schiffchen - Wehrmacht or Civilian ?

    Hi Everyone,
I picked up this Red Cross side cap today. I don't know too much about these after spending a couple of hours looking through a number of military sites - I don't think its a officer's cap their badge has a white back ground and white piping on the cap top. I'm not completely certain that its a army cap maybe civilian. What do members think it is. I've found no makers mark or label, only previous owner's name - A.Metz and printed cap size 57. Any information welcome.
    Regards

    Hi Gentlemen,
Thanks for the posts. I did a bit of further research came up with - The cap I showed is a early 1st Pattern M34 DRK overseas cap with 1st Pattern eagle soutache. I did come across some 1st pattern caps with two silver buttons or two cloth buttons (on mine one cloth button is missing). I gleaned from a 1935 DRK manual, a illustration showing the cap I posted in wear. Here's a picture.
