Default schirmmutze for Flieger or Fallschirmjäger

    Hey guy's,
thise cap came up out of the blue, when talking militaria at the pub!!!
The guy is asking 500 euro for the cap and a type 2 AK pith helmet (JHS type).
I am valuing the Ak helmet around 300 euro, but what about the cap.
It looks good for me at first sight , but the stiches marks at the bottom edge of the visor worries me.
I hope you are able to see them, these are the only pics I was able to take with my phone.

Hi Kris, it is fine, just missing the leather trim from the edge of the visor, hence the stitch marks.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Ok, thanks Ade.
Looking at the general condition of the cap ( a well used and personalized cap) I was thinking some one removed that visor edge , one normaly finds on those caps.
I need to phone thise guy early in the morning to make the deal hapen!!!

Hi Kris, the cap is very similar to one of mine.

The ranks thing makes me blush.

    Cheers, Ade.

Looks authentic but to be honest, not very desirable.
I hate to say it but most people in this hobby are looking for original items but also not to invest in a dud that will be very hard work to sell in the future so price is key.
