The black visor cap in Craig's auction is quite genuine, just with the wrong insignia and nothing to do with the SS!

I would say Government Official for wear with the midnight blue uniform. On my monitor, I can see that the cap body is actually a very, very dark blue while the band is a true black...

I am not sure if the hat is genuine, but your statement that the visors body is a very dark blue is quite accurate. I used a software to enhance the color, and that is clear now. Here is the photo.


It is still representing something that it is not. So genuine or not, IMO, it should be pulled.

This is a black SS general's cap. When arrayed with like black caps, its blackness is evident.
