An authentic cap, seldom seen anymore on these ever more enfeebled and dorked up sites.
This one is even in a book!
Its piping is of a non controversial color. Pi pa po.

As usual, top notch quality items.
That is a very beautiful cap.
And on your previous comment, i knew what you meant, who the comment was meant for.
I agree, lets keep this site above the rest, and much better, and lets also keeps the junk out of here as much as possible, as they say, lets do out best to be the the elite, the site that everyone wants to join, because we have best stuff, and the most knowledgeable experts around on collecting WW2 items.
Thanks for sharing the pic of the visor.
Brian
Dear Brian, thanks. Happy collecting and much good fortune to you and your brothers and sisters at arms. My plan to share something with you has gone afoul (the pieces got sold without my knowing), so I must find you something else for you. Please be patient with me. I have also been TDY constantly in the last two months, as well. Jhnen alles Gute, FB
PS here is an image of an authentic cap, too. The fakes of these tags are now quite excellent, in fact.
Not to beat you down, Das Reich, but first you stated you knew nothing
about these caps, and I expect you came here for some answers.
The fellows you have spoken with about it are in the dark about it as well,
unless they are trying to steer you into buying it, or they have never
had it in hand or seen any of these photos.
The asking price should be a strong indicator that this is a fake cap. When these
come on the market, they are usually at 'bargain - too good to be true' prices,
and somewhat affordable. Originals fetch many thousands of dollars and are
pretty much beyond the reach of the average collector.
On the other hand, telling what is wrong about it can give someone
the knowledge to make fake caps even more 'believable'........
