Mine seems comparable , I think you are too quick too dismiss. I have a few British pith helmets and this Helmet is not a modern repro , I do have a small amount of experience to know the difference between a modern repro and what I have here.
Sure, like I said; "most"....!
But take a closer look at the form of any genuine AK pith helmet and try to compare to the one you are showing.
Over hanging front and rear edges are wider and curve in a different way.
You could be right, and I am always willing to learn.
I am very intresting in hearing Peter's opinion on it.

I would imagine straw looses it shape to some extent, I have two British pith helmets by the same maker and they have slightly different shapes to each other, due to age and their storage conditions, at the end of the day it has to comes down to personal judgement . As we won't always agree on the items in our collection, as I have found is often the case . That is what makes this a great forum for our views and ideas.
I contacted Peter Suciu after your recommendation and all looks good Peter gave me some really interesting info regarding the straw constructed helmets.
Ok, so I am wrong! Always good to learn.

That's why I always try not to write items off too soon ,as a few negative reviews can kill an item just because it doesn't conform to the text book norm. I also have learnt a lot from this item .
