It's a nice cap. Nice shape, nice quality and in as good condition as you're likely to find, who cares what colour the piping is!

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Spandau, you may, and it is a beauty! Top of the line by Pekuro with the doeskin and the bullion--these Beamten cared about (and for) their hats......
PS--the "Big 3" of hatmakers are now covered in this thread!
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Stonemint,
Thanks for the invite !

I don't like it... I LOVE IT !
In case any of you are interested, Weitze has a mint unissued pre-war Beamte CW on his site right now for 1500 Euros. This has the earlier logo; the 1/2 fold-over/ 1/2 sewn sweatband; no stirndruckfrei; and a doeskin wool body. Note the peak is lower than my wartime example:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Note that the pre-war shade for Beamte by CW was more of an emerald color, similar to Erel's. During the war, it became the regulation badge-cloth colot:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Very interesting visual essay. I sold my Lubstein Beamter cap for far too little money. I actually had two, one of which had the foil tag still in it.....all for too little treasure and all to Shea......
Wonderful caps, thanks for the visual and educational feast!
