Unusual Heer Chaplain's Schirmmütze , or....?

Article about: Violet or purple we agree. My wife also says it is violet and we all agree woman are better judges of color shades. If you have ever redecorated a house, you will know what I mean.

Exposed stitching is not uncommon on caps of this and any other period for that matter. I have caps with the stitching exposed.

It is more likely on Govt contract caps than private purchase ones because of the mass production techniques used and the quality of the worker employed .....the more you pay the better the quality true today as then !

    Hope that helps

    cheers

Late to the party but it is blue for medical I feel. The blue dye has oxidized to give the the tint you now see. Nice cap non the less, so enjoy it for what it is. The medical corp. were the unsung hero s on the battlefield and and deserve more recognition!

I'm not an expert on these but I am also not colorblind. I see blue for medical ..only by looking at these pics mind you. It's a beauty none the less! You must be a happy fellow!

The debate continues. My 16 year old grandson ,whom we are with this week, just looked at the pictures at the front of this thread and
commented that the first picture "looks blue",but the second picture looks "violet because of the light."Just an observation from an
    impartial viewer.
