The postwar German films of the 1945-55 era used a lot of original items--here is Der Stern von Afrika:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
I agree Stony, the amount of great original items in 'Der Stern von Afrika' is amazing.
How about the classic 'Cross Of Iron', not too many visors but one of the first movies outside Germany to try for some
realistic uniform detail....
And another of my all time favourites, is the classic 'The Great Escape' with an absolute star studded cast., although my favourite is
the Flak "Der Spiess' played by Harry Riebauer, with his superbly crushed visor cap.
The movie is probably remembered most though for the famous motor bike scenes with Steve McQueen.
A little bit of a potted history of Harry Riebauer:-
Harry Riebauer was born on July 4, 1921 in Reichenberg, Sudetenland, Germany [now Liberec, Czech Republic].
He was an actor, known for The Great Escape (1963), The Strangler of Blackmoor Castle (1963) and Golden Boy (1962).
He died on November 8, 1999 in Berlin, Germany.
One more of Harry...

This is the clip from a new movie out of Estonia called 1944.. It looks awesome but I cant find where to watch or buy it. If anyone has seen this let me know. Even using real T-34's I believe.
The uniforms and daggers in this film are 100% original to the period: KOPF HOCH, JOHANNES!
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
