A few reckon it could be ROMMAL i know i know but it does look like it, and both ROUIMAL & ROMMAL are surnames , nothing else there that i can see that it could be ,,,

Hi Justin, this particular pattern of Einheitsfeldmutze was found at the SS clothing storage depot at Dachau Camp in 1945 by US troops. Many US servicemen who were at the camp liberated them as souvenirs. So these caps have a direct known link to the past. They are a late war cap and are very distinctive in the insignia and the way the cap was made. Note the cardboard reinforcement under the visor which does not have a cloth covering. This is a particular trait of these caps. The cloth used is also quite distinctive and is fairly lightweight. I hope that explains it for you? It is a great cap!
