    rynegold--

Yours probably is an Eastern Occupied Territories Postschutz visor--it is just that it seems to be a forest-green in color. Is the body as green as it appears? Are there any extra holes in the pasteboard?

Here are some more shots of mine. We believe it was made in occupied Poland or Czech, due to some variations from typical German manufacture.

Here you can see that in the East, they wore the dark green piping on the tabs in lieu of orange:

Here you can see that 2 of the Postschutz men are Reich-proper, and the other 2 are from the Ost, by the light (orange) and dark (green) piping on their tabs:

Lastly, the SS took over the Postschutz in 1942 and they then wore SS uniforms with a cuff-title which said "SS-Postschutz". That was the end of the wear of these visors, both in the Reich proper and in the East.

Oh my gosh,... to my untrained eye, mine looks exactly like yours. Does yours have a "comfort" stamp impressed into th leather sweat band?? Like this one?

Thanks Cris! Have a look at the slideshow again as I've added some pix of the field visor. Does yours have the "comfort" stamp impressed into the leather sweatband?

I added a pic of it...

Regardless of whether it was a Postschutz hat from day one or a re-badged Forestry hat, it's still a very nice original example in decent condition.
