Auction box score!

Hello all. Been a quiet collecting summer for me, as I was involuntarily furloughed from my job for a couple months. However, today being my birthday, my wife bought me a box of US military items at auction last night. She paid $47.50.
Following are some images of some of the small items in the box. Everything belonged to one man who served in the '80s. The box even had his address and a tag as shipped from Fort Drum, NY.

I will post more pics of the other contents when I get a chance.

Okay, so now I am looking for opinions. Let me start by saying, I do not know the full name of the former owner of this box, but found this very unsettling article;

Should I get rid of the stuff? I am leaning toward just breaking it up and divorcing the items from the man. Disgusting behavior and I hope his ass is still sitting in prison somewhere.
