Blackout I think were on the coast...after we learned that the U-Boats were using the lights from the cities to pinpoint targets. Not sure about inland.....I'm to young for that.

Hi Thank you for your question. I think what should be born in mind is that "Odds and Ends" (O&E) is a relative term. To an ephemera specialist collector, an Iron Cross may qualify as an O&E whereas to me, a blade and visor man, a flag is an O&E and so on. I would be quite happy, in the interest of variety, to put verually anything on this thread with the exception of visors and blades which are primary collections to me and I display them in their relative specialist sections. However, anyone else, including yourself is welcome to post their O&E as far as I am concerned and to add in whatever floats their boats as odds and ends. People out there seem to be happy with the contents of this thread and its variety given that no fewer than 337 members have viewed it and it has had over 7500 hits. The members, to whom I am most gratefull, who have supported this thread have, I hope, given an amount of pleasure to their fellow members by showing their odds and ends and if they are not shown in their precise Sections, well so what? Variety and interest is what I am endeavouring to achieve with this thread.

Please feel free to show us some of your "Stuff", your are more than welcome

Hi Horst, Thank you for your comment. Yes, you and KMMorris are entirely correct and if I am looking for specific information on any particular item(s) then I will go to the appropriate specific forum!! However, this is not a specialist thread dedicated to a singe generic subject. I started the thread in order for collectors like me who have specific collections or whatever but who also have odds and ends peculiar to me. To put my argument into some sort of perspective, may I please give you an example of what I am getting at? I have about 100 Iron Crosses but do not consider myself to be a specialist in Iron Crosses and have no interest in being shown every known variation from every possible angle. That said, if you or anyone else wants to put some Crosses on the O&E thread then I for one would be very pleased to have a look and pass appropriate comment but not as a specialist!!!! The whole idea of this thread is for people like me and anyone else who have items which WE consider to be odds and ends, to show!! In conclusion, I invite you and anyone else out there to please feel free to post what you like when you like on this thread!! Variety and interest are the key words for what I am hoping to achieve with this thread.
