Hi StefanM, Nice unusaul bit of kit. It amazes me just what us collectors aquire. All sorts of none collection collectables covering just about anything you can imagine that an army could ever require. Nice to see and thank you for showing. Now, what else have you got for us to view?????
Thank you once again Michael R

PS. I like the little eagle Waffen Ampt!!
Love the Waffen Ampt as well. In my Zeitzünder für Sprühbüchse 37 post a while back, even the tiny parts inside had the Waffen Ampt. Amazing!

    Default My Dad's Toys

Thought I would share some of my Dads toys when he was a boy during the 1930's. I have a whole boxful but as one would expect, most were throughly "enjoyed" by a little boy and are somewhat worse for wear.

As a kid, I played with them as well and so did some of my Dad's grandkids......

Excellent toys and pics. Great, that there is even a dirigible.
As it happens, I just visited a MIL fair recently and there was a large grouping of German toy soldiers from the same period complete with vehicles and fortifications. Really quite impressive. Sadly no pics.
Dont ever part with the toys. Hope you keep them in a glass case and display the toy soldiers prominently....if allowed by SWMBO.

Hi MAP, You and your Dad must have been pretty caring children because the condition looks pretty good from where I am looking. Some may say "what have toys got to do with militaria?". I take the opposite view, I for one was introduced to militaria as a direct result of collecting and playing with toy soldiers and vehicles. I also collected Dinky US cars but have resisted the urge to collcet the real thing. Money or rather the lack of it!!! I am realy pleased that Larry agreed to the change of title and useage of this thread as it opens it up to us inveterate collector/hoarders and we can show and tell about things not normally seen in militaria collections. And your soldiers are a prime example. Well done and thank you for showing!!!!!!!
    Best wishes MR

Hi, Some time ago, I purchased the shoulder board in the photos from a non specialist militaria dealer/collector. It was stated to be Imperial and a single. In my humble opinion, judging by the style and size it is post Imperial. The "stars" and the number "5" appear to be both original and contemporary with the board ergo, I am of the opinion that the board has not been "cobbled" together. Having checked on various sites, the only Generaloberst that I can find who wore a regiment "5" was Ludwig Beck in commemoration of the 5th Artillery Regiment. I hope you find it interesting. Please note, this item was previously shown on a specialist thread so you may have seen it before.
    Regards Michael R

I'm the caretaker for now and then they will be split between the children when the time comes. These few are front and center in one of my glass cases. And the Better Half (SWMBO?) loves them, while she "tolerates" the other militaria.
