I drive a Drifter now, but still use WWII "shape" helmets when driving! ;-)

I see a lot of bikers wearing WW2 shape helmets in my neighborhood here in brooklyn. I even saw a delivery guy on a scooter wearing one, I bet he had no idea what he was wearing, haha. I've been thinking about wearing this chrome one while riding my bicycle, I'd kinda like to get a motorcycle, but I have no mechanical talent(my brother, who builds hot rods, got all of that talent in our family, haha). Glad to see that you're sticking with good helmets!
Hey Eddie I dig this much more than a ground dug relic, Fantastic I love it
Thanks man, I was shocked when I saw it, I've never seen another one before! I was just looking for a nice M40 with a bit of heer decal left on it, and I found this rare little bird. I had to get it before someone decided that they needed to "restore" it. I MAY have to buy an nice M40 Heer sometime in the next year though. Eek.
Doomtown,Nice helmet. Friends used to wear original SS helmets and jackets when riding back in the late '60's early 70's. I wear a repainted original helmet when I ride. I have pics of 'Angels in the 60's wearing 'Haubes outside of the clubhouse in the city. Rich A. in Pa.

Interesting thread.
I've still got my old surfers cross that I wore back in the 60's.
I also have one of the bigger ones that I use in my dagger display.
I also have seen Dick Dale play. He did a few shows with the Beach Boys
about 20 years ago. He was introduced as the "The king of the surf guitar"
