You could display the MG42 on top of a bookcase or something similar and get a Detolf display case for smaller items.

Problem is, it's expensive as heck! But nothing is cheap these days, might have to wait for a store liquidation!

If you can find out what the name of that discontinued Ikea case is, you should be able to find a used one cheap-ish... :-)

This is an IKA case I picked up a few years ago. It would fit in your space. The cost was around $130 but they haven't had them the last two times I was at IKA. They did have the matching tower but I would like to add another one.

What was the name of that display case?

Detolf is the name of the glass IKEA cabinets, They're still available, in the UK at least:

Generally, incandescent lighting is not damaging to the contents of a display case.
