German Medal Groups

Since the research value is minimal, I have never concentrated on these either. It is just that, give the perverse ways the universe works, a number of them have "happened to" me. Kind of like all those Indian police groups that have come to my custody. . . .

As I continue to try to "learn" the nature of this forum, I seek things to post that may be of greater interest than most of what I have put up.

While German material is in no way even near the core of my interest, a few German medal groups have somehow crept in. I thought I'd share them here. There are very few Nazi things, and this is intentional, as I don't "do" the Nazi "stuff".

I hope some find these of interest.

Hi Ed, you have some nice medal bars there. I have a few imperial and WWII bars myself-but nothing fancy. The best ones I have are only 2 and or 3 place bars. One I like the most is a 2 place that shows a 1914 EKII and a Lubeck Hanseatic Cross on it. Another favorite of mine is another 2-place bar with 1914 EKII and the Franze Friedrich cross 2nd Cl, and I have a 3-rd 2 place bar with 1914 EKII and E-A Cross 2nd-and the only 3 place I still have-has the Kyfferhausbund medal, a beautiful (and was the only reason why I bought this one) has a 5th Uhlan Kav Rgmt honor cross or regimental cross? on it with a metal bar saying it's for the 5th Uhlan, but my most favorite of all shows a 1914 EKII with a Friedrich August cross 2nd on it with a braver bar. I also have a 1-place medal bar which has my one and only 1870 EKII as the medal bar.

Hello Ed,
I am new here an just stumbled upon this thread. It seems
there is very little interest here in Imperial medals for some
reason. As a collector of Imperial Eks, I find this a little
disheartening. So as someone who does appreciate older
ironcrosses, let me say --WOW.

An original 1813 medal bar is almost unheard of and your
1870 non-com bar is BEAUTIFUL.
I am not a madal bar guy (I prefer singles) but you have some very nice pieces.
