    Looks kind of like a police helmet possibly used for the BW in 1948? Just a guess.

    Paint almost looks grey which may mean it was used postwar as you said Dean

    Agree Reflective strip around helmet left a shadow typical of post war BW fire helmet. Used after war by BW Fire dept as already stated. timothy
