The kid's Collection

Article about: by Bill T Killer GJ cap Stefan! And I really enjoyed the story about the footlocker. I would rather have a special item like that than a high dollar item without any known history behind it!

    Stefan,
    Absolutely great !!!!!
I'm pleased that A/G Bird's story has come to light ....
And of course, you now have a personal item directed connected to him.

.... Next would be to try and identify his actual squadron ... and possibly aircraft he flew in.
There's MANY people out there who research specific squadrons etc ..

I'm sure "his" story has not finished with you yet !!

    Good luck !

Sounds like a plan, I'll look into it, it would be interesting to find out his squad information and where he served. Never would've of thought of looking into it

Turns out he was is the 460 squadron of the RAAF, that surprised me I thought he was Canadian. Still pretty cool time to look in to their missions.

    All the best,

    Hi thekid,

Nice collection - if you haven't already make time to go visit the BC Regiment museum - they have some nice things on show.

It was the highlight of my visit, this year.

Nice find on the GJ cap - all I managed to find in BC were police helmets and some seriously used field gear, wound badges, etc.

    Good luck,

    Pit.

Thanks, didn't even know BC had a war museum! Definitely will check that out when school isn't so hard on me . Also the GJ cap came out of a militaria shop in BC, that's about the only place I've been able to find TR items locally. IMO you did well with the items you found. Also your pictures unfortunately did not turn up ;(

    All the best,
    Stefan

Yah I share your sentiments, I tend to get the problem you expierence when I try and copy and paste a link I used for a picture before, it tends to fix itself if you use the picture upload button.

    All the best,
    Stefan

    Well done mate.
All the best with your future collecting.
I think it's a great thing the younger generations take interest in the past and preserve the artifacts of history.People like me will move their collections on to people like you in the future and the link to the past shall not be broken.
    Cheers

    All the best,
    Stefan
