i would say to make a thread in the firearms section as you've got more chance of getting it identified all i can tell you its old and is a flintlock

Looks more like a percussion cap rifle rather than a flintlock IMO.

Is the STEN blued or painted? I have one I want to finish restoring. Most I have seen are painted various different colors.
