Looking for the photo albums of Leutnant Emil Freitag, 3. / G.R. 377
Great collection!
Normally I don't collect any Soviet militaria, but this bottle looks so extreme that I just couldn't resist. The other one is unmarked German. Both found in the trenches of Southern Estonia.
Not much to write home about on canteens' front, but this lovely Luftaffe water-can popped up. Made by Heinrich Ritter aluminium factory
Wasserkanne of Luftwaffe and two more Estonian Tav bottles
Salty ones, one of them tropical GJ
20l steel + 10l alloy + ??l canvas. BTW, I am Aquarius
Today I got the hairless version of Tornister in very good shape, only the shoulder straps are missing. Together with it came denazified Kriegsmarine buckle. As these are not exactly fitting in my collecting area, they both are ready to go. Everyone wanting them can PM me.
My first present for this year's Julefest, an Italian mess tin, named by Estonian fellow E. Kallasmaa. Found in the cellar in the countryside.
It's almost the last day of 2012 and some water related stuff still keeps coming to my door. The red enameled jug, which is the same size as the regular aluminium jugs used by army, but I gess it's much rarer (does this word exist in English?). This one was used by RAD, marked on the bottom G.B.1941. I have only seen two of this kind before and now both of them are enthroned in my own kitchen.
