I may be wrong but I think the tunic was originally a Weimar period,
city police, tunic that may have been reused as Volkstrum tunic. I have seen a variety of tunics used during the Weimar period, dunkleblau and feldgrau with green piping with fold back cuffs, for police tunics. It is still just a guess. I know the volkstrum were using anything they could find for uniforms at the end of the war.

I hope you all don't mind but i thought I would add to this post to bring it to peoples attention again. With new members joining all the time I was wondering if anyone else had anymore ideas on the original origin of the volkksturm tunic shown to add to the ones already generously given. Thanks in advance to all for taking time to have alook.
