Re: My Dagger displays
Here is a photo of the back larry, they came with the built in wall hangers so you can hang them longways or sideways, fishing line is a good idea but I used thin aluminum wire, I placed the dagger, scabbard and hangers on first to measure where the holes would go, then I marked the spots and drilled holes, then ran the wire through and pulled it tight, twisted it then snipped off the excess. photos, patches, etc get mounted with double stick foam tape, it really is trial and error, I said quite a few cuss words and hours trying to make something work but I am happy with the result.

Re: My Dagger displays
Sentence enhancers.......aka.."cuss words"..is a must tool when trying to complete projects...that have no given directions. I use these enhancing tools myself,, in, increasing measure after 5 attempts at the same obstacle. I feel your pain...but thanks for the tips.. i will consider the wire idea first as it is hard to twist fishing line. Thanks bro

Re: My Dagger displays
Great daggers displays. Shadow boxes are fantastic items to enhance collections. I am working on a shadow box for my Iron Cross collection now and I've made up a few cuss words, mainly because I'm installing LED lights in it also. My toughest decision was to stick with the black background or install another color. Im still undecided on that. Grrrr, lol yours turned out very well. Great job.

Re: My Dagger displays
I used a red background for my EK2, framed it with the document and ribbon and it came out nice, LED lighting is a whole other monster, another key is not to over think what your trying to do., once you have an idea stick with it and dont stray. Looking foward to seeing all of your final projects. Good luck men and may god be with you lol

Re: My Dagger displays
I thought about red but wasn't sure if it work just be, "too much." Or too "in your face" brightness. The black background is sleek and majestic but some of the EKs with darker patina kind of get swallowed up in the background. I'm still playing with it. Trial and error as was said.

May I suggest,, as a test a dark grey background..which you should still see all of the EKs definition. Regards Larry

Re: My Dagger displays
Well Done!
Nice touch with the photos.
Very similar layout to mine. Aluminum wire will tarnish with time. One of my thoughts for this method of displaying was to use the clear twist ties with wire inside that come with many children's toys or other items. My plan is to put an officer's belt across the top and maybe a summer tunic breast eagle.
