Richard Seiper and Sohne, quite a prolific buckle maker and very common

Another question, would you happen to know what that symbol (sort of ladder) next to the ghotique abreviation G K & L , on the buckles?

I don't wish to offend you, but I must agree with Dimas here. "Restoration" of these buckles is wrong in my honest opinion. To me they are now simply "messed with". I much prefered to see them in their true historical state. If you want a mint item, simply go out and buy one and not try and make them into something they are not. To me this is going too far.

No offence Ade!!
I do agree with you, when badly restaured, they are messed up.
But if it is done by somebody who is trained to do so,and if it is told when showed or...even sold , there is no probleme ...in my opinion.
As I told before ; a restauration that can be on-done at any time (by a profesional!!) without causing any more damage to the item is no "messing up".
Buildings are been restaured, cars ,tanks and all kind of antiques , so I see no reason why WWII relic's couldn't be restaured.
I want to specify that I am talking about restaurations done by profesionals, trained to do so!
I am aware that it is a very contoversial topic.
