My MP Helmet and the story behind

Article about: by ObKrieger Are you referring to the knot in the strap? Perhaps this was done by the owner in an attempt to shorten it? No the metal end of the chin strap? Because I never saw one like that

Default My MP Helmet and the story behind

Hello, I want to present you my MP helmet.

This helmet was worn by Robert F. Rubbert during the Battle of the Bulge here in Luxembourg.
He was born 1921 in Indiana and joined the 15 may 1943 the army. He was single and worked as a toolmaker and die sinker and setter (4 years of high school).
He served the 819th Military Police Company (Sergeant). The problem is that this company wasn´t in Luxembourg, so I suppose that he served the 90th Infantry here in Luxembourg! He was DNB the 12 january 1945 and is now buried at the Luxembourg American Cementery.
This helmet was found on a farm in Boevange next to the helmet of Charles Cain https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/colle...behind-229129/
    ?I saw never those chinstraps?

Enjoy and give me your opinion!

yes So I have some contacts here in Luxembourg. I decided some time ago to buy only items with a background/name. Only when they belong completely together or are an individual item, I add them to my collection.

    thanks bigmacglenn!

    Greetings

DNB means Death Non Battle? Accident or Disease, do you know? Is it possible to also get the National Archive Records of his service?

Great helmet! The chinstrap looks like the normal early brass variant to me.
