I was pretty much strictly an edged weapons collector before I received his medals and paper work. When my father was diagnosed with cancer, I was aware that he received some awards. I made a display case for him and aquired a BWB to add to the EK and Panzerkampf Abzeichen that he had as I was aware that he earned it but no longer had it. I literally put the display together when he was on his deathbed. After his passing, I receive all of the items pertaining to my father's military career. I would have to say that his duties influenced me a little bit.
